Así lo dejó claro el entrenador Iván Déniz, quien aseguró que la principal enseñanza de la serie anterior fue comprender que los playoffs representan una realidad completamente distinta a la fase regular. "Nos ha venido muy bien entrenar estos días. Necesitábamos recuperar hábitos y trabajar detalles que con tantos partidos no habíamos podido corregir", explicó el estratega español. Déniz reconoció que la derrota sufrida en el primer juego ante Caballeros de Culiacán terminó siendo una llamada de atención para todo el plantel. "Nos bajó del pedestal, nos hizo tocar tierra y volver a ser humildes. Ahora siento a un grupo mucho más enfocado y consciente de lo que se está jugando", afirmó. El técnico también advirtió que Ángeles de Ciudad de México será un rival de cuidado, especialmente después de dejar en el camino a Tijuana, uno de los equipos más fuertes de la temporada. "Para ser campeón también hay que demostrarlo fuera de casa y ellos ya lo hicieron. No podemos pensar en lo que ocurrió durante la temporada regular porque los playoffs son otra historia", señaló. Fiel a su filosofía, Déniz reiteró que la identidad de Astros seguirá sustentada en una defensa intensa, transiciones rápidas y una rotación amplia, fórmula que le permitió al conjunto jalisciense dominar gran parte de la campaña.
