The Astros de Jalisco have become one of the most dominant franchises in professional basketball in Mexico, despite their short history. With only six years of existence, the team has already won titles, memorable finals, and a passionate fan base. The project was born on February 18, 2019, with the intention of returning a professional basketball team to Guadalajara that would represent the city's identity. The official presentation was led by Salvador Quirarte, president of the franchise; Sergio Ganem, president of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP), and Carlos Bremer (QEPD), director of Grupo Financiero Value. Since then, the club has set an ambitious path: to be a protagonist in each tournament it participates in, with solid structures and a business vision that allows it to transcend beyond sports. The turning point for the Astros came in 2021, when the sports project began to bear fruit. The men's team won its first Zona Oeste Championship, a result that ignited the team's spirit and set the tone for what was to come. In that season, they made their first appearance in the LNBP Finals, a feat they repeated in 2022 and 2023. Although they finished as national runners-up in all three instances, their consistency and level of play solidified the quintet as one of the most respected teams in the country. Each final series played was a spectacle that attracted attention beyond Guadalajara, sparking national interest and contributing to the growth of Mexican basketball. For the fans, the pride of watching the Astros compete against established powers meant a rebirth of the "deporte ráfaga" in the city. In 2022, the Astros made their debut in the Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacífico (CIBACOPA), one of the most intense and spectacular tournaments in Mexico. Far from being a discreet debut, the tapatíos were crowned champions in their first season. On July 12, 2022, in a thrilling sixth game, the Astros defeated the Rayos de Hermosillo 91-87, winning their first trophy in the circuit. The Arena Astros celebrated with joy, as the club delivered its first title to its fans. A year later, on June 26, 2023, they repeated the feat. Once again, facing Hermosillo, the Astros revalidated their supremacy by defeating them 93-86 in the Arena Sonora, securing the bicampeonato. The third chapter arrived in 2025. On July 1, against the combatants Zonkeys de Tijuana, the Astros won 90-77 in the seventh game of the final series, conquering the tricampeonato del CIBACOPA. The Arena Astros erupted in joy, confirming that the franchise was destined to dominate. The title was accompanied by historic statistics: a record 15 wins in 18 games in the first round, including a perfect start of 13 consecutive wins, the best in the circuit's history. With the men's team consolidated, it was the women's turn. In their debut season in the LNBP Femenil, the Astros demonstrated their potential and became one of the most outstanding franchises in the tournament.
